Anxiety

Anxiety – what is it?
A debilitating mood disorder that is triggered by an often unidentifiable stimulus which then results in uneasiness, apprehension and fear. Panic attacks, poor sleep patterns, constant worrying are the normal accompanying symptoms.

Understanding Anxiety
Anxiety is the flip side of the beliefs behind depression and the sufferer believes they can create outcomes by surveillance and control. Anxiety is often a future-oriented mood state in which a person is ready or prepared to attempt to cope with upcoming negative events or tasks.
Anxiety is generally considered to be a somewhat normal reaction to stress related illness. However, anxiety is a mostly unhealthy reaction or coping mechanism a person uses to deal with difficult situations and upcoming events.  When anxiety becomes excessive, it may fall under the classification of an acute anxiety disorder. Symptoms and indicators of anxiety include:

  • Excessive, ongoing worry and tension
  • an unrealistic view of a problem
  • feeling ‘edgy’
  • being easily startled
  • trouble falling or staying asleep
  • nausea, headaches, tiredness and panic attacks.

Why can’t traditional methods fix anxiety?
Traditional therapies focus on the symptoms not the cause. Psychotherapy spends a lot of therapy time searching for individual triggers and the history of these triggers. Psychoanalysis spreads its talk therapy out, often over a number of years and relies often on medication to help manage the symptoms; again not the cause.

Why Beat The Blues does work for Anxiety
Clients suffering from anxiety make up the second largest group attending these programs.  Beat The Blues approach to anxiety disorders is completely different to traditional methods that are low on results. Our solution has three major components:

  • We only use Fountainhead Method ™, trained life coaches. “The Fountainhead Method™ is the number one system for understanding stress and its application to health in the world today” [1]
  • It is supported by Journey Therapy. Developed originally by American author Brandon Bays similar to time line therapy but different in that the focuses is not only to identify your patterns of behaviour and its origin-but to change the pattern then and there. “Where was this when I was studying psychology at University”[2]
  • It is underpinned by Mindfulness training which has existed for millennia but has only been explained scientifically the last twenty years.  “One has to try to develop one’s inner feelings, which can be done simply by training one’s mind.” [3]

Solutions at Beat The Blues Retreat
Help with anxiety is our specialty. Our trained Life Coaches and mentors are experts in helping you pinpoint which are the beliefs that trigger your anxiety.
This anxiety reducing process begins by learning techniques for observing an emotion resulting after anxiety is activated. We teach that trying to stop a painful emotion, at best, only achieves a temporary fix. You might get through the moment or even the hour.
However, when you are in a similar situation again, the same beliefs will be activated again and the same emotional responses will occur. The Fountainhead Method teaches you simple ways to halt, alter and even reverse this pattern.
It is important to note, changing the belief that causes anxiety driven emotions such as anger or blame, does not mean you will never experience these again. What it will change however is the time you spend in that painful emotion.  Your emotions are teaching you that there is more to learn. The Fountainhead Method teaches you what to do with this new found knowledge in ways that makes your anxiety disappear.

“I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, I knew that I needed something & I was at a point in my life where I was willing to give anything a go, as the alternative was a scary one!
I am writing this on the last day of my two weeks stay & I can’t believe how much better I feel; it isn’t a miracle cure but then there isn’t much that is unfortunately. What it is, is a great start, a simple but brilliant foundation with which to start a new & improved life! I am looking forward to the future & that is the best gift I have ever been given!!”

What the experts say
The Anti Depression Association of Australia (ADAA); recently interviewed author Michelle Mark who confirms this new approach to treatment for anxiety: “When you are experiencing anxiety, or need help with anxiety, the real work needed to reduce it for the long term is not done by changing how you feel. This is a temporary solution at best. The real work is done by changing the root cause of that emotional response. Those who suffer from anxiety must look beyond the effects, and go back to the cause. The Fountainhead Method™ shows you how to do this”

“Suffering from depression for a number of years & being on mega dose of antidepressants (without any improvement), I landed in hospital after sitting up in bed with a handful of tablets & a glass of water. I remained in hospital for 6 weeks & had 12 treatments of ECT – no improvement. I actually left hospital with a clot in my calf & pneumonia.
Whilst roaming the internet for a solution I came across Fountainhead’s “Beat the Blues” retreat. After 12 days at Fountainhead & implementing simple yet powerful strategies, I returned home to my beautiful wife of 38 years, who was amazed & thrilled at my transformation. I now find I am still “firing on all cylinders” & NO MEDICATION.
Finally a huge “thank you” to Fountainheads marvellous staff, whose dedication & caring, together with wisdom has enabled me to regain my life.”
